End of a day's work

It was a busy day for me at work today. As I was making my round in the park and waiting for the sun to set, I manage to capture a few moments in photo which I would like to share with you. Hope you enjoy it. This is not the best shot if to be analysed professionally by professional photographer, however, it translates what I saw with my eyes with the help of my Nikon D70. :)

Almost to the limit

Dear all visitors,

I've reached 95% of my limited storage space. I think I should be sending a few more shots to complete the balance 5%.

Here are a few shots taken from Taman Botani Putrajaya. I realised that I have not been posting much flora photos. so here they are for your viewing pleasure.

Taman Tasik Cempaka revisited

was showing 2 guests around the park. not many birds. :-( there were some folks catching fish in the shallow area. only managed to see 3 cinnamon bitterns, few baya weavers, few white-headed munias, scaly-breasted munias, common mynas, white-throated kingfisher, yellow-vented bulbul, little heron but no painted stork. Saw the storks perching high up on the pylon before coming to the park though.

after the guests left, i stayed on for another 1/2 hour. now, there are more birds - great egret, little egrets, little herons, common sandpiper, white-breasted waterhen, pond heron....

Taman Wetland Putrajaya: Bird Photography

It has been raining for the past week. Water level rises. Marsh no more. The wetland cells are now flooded. Only some patches of vegetation. That's where the swamphens hang around. Above the cell, a group of 8 black baza pass by from north to south (9.30am). Occasionally yellow bitterns can be spotted with a few blue-tailed bee-eaters.

Another New Species for Putrajaya Wetland Checklist

In the morning, a veteran local birder alerted me of a jambu fruit dove in the park. So, in the evening, I took a walk around the same area which he mentioned. I managed to spot it feeding on the very same tree the scarlet-backed flowerpecker was sighted. It was feeding on the berries of Tembusu tree.

Visiting Photographers from Singapore to Putrajaya Wetland

The photographers were aiming at the Brown-streaked Flycatcher. An uncommonly sighted migrant species to this part of peninsular Malaysia. It is recorded in Southern Thailand to North West Malaysia. Yet, in Kedah, it is still uncommon.
